The Master of Physiotherapy program consists of 10 courses (42 credits) offered in 1 and a half academic year, that is 3 semesters (full-time) or 3 years (Part -time).

Admission Requirements for the Master of Physiotherapy Course

I don’t know how low your GPA is but you are required to have at least a 2.75 GPA.

Here is a Summary of their admission requirements into the Master of Physiotherapy (Musculoskeletal) Program:

  • Bachelor of Science (Hons.) from UiTM in a related and appropriate area of specialization with minimum CGPA of 2.75;

OR

  • Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent from other recognized universities approved by UiTM with minimum CGPA of 2.75.
  • English Language requirement. Any of the following scores depending on the test results you have:
    • Malaysian University English Test (MUET) Band 3
    • IELTS Band 5
    • TOEFL: Internet Based Test (IBT: 35 – 45); Computer Based Test (CBT: 107 – 131); Paper Based Test (417 – 450)
    • CEFR: B1
    • TOEIC: 356 – 440
    • BULATS: 40 – 59

Application Procedure for International Students:

If you are applying for the March Semester, the deadline for application is in September, while if you’re applying for the September Semester (2) the application deadline is March.

  1. Fill an online application at https://online.uitm.edu.my/ipsis/international/index.cfm
  2. Email your required documents
    1. Passport
    1. Academic Transcript and Certificate (Certified True Copy)
    1. Referee Reports: Two Persons (Form can be downloaded from the website)
  3. Your application would be evaluated and the result sent to you.

Processing Fee – USD 50

Course/Tuition FEES

RM16,430 (USD3,985) for the 3 Semesters.

Student Accommodation and Living Expenses

  • Living expenses depend on your needs and lifestyle. An estimated monthly cost per head for food, books, clothes, entertainment, local travel and other miscellaneous expenses are approximately: USD 250 to USD 350.
  • The school has Wellbeing Advisers who are available to guide you on choices concerning student accommodation.
  • There are also furnished apartments for students, ranging from USD 80- USD 160 for a single unit and usd300 – USD 410 for an apartment unit (per head).

Additional Requirements:

Applicants must also:

  • show proof of financial ability to pursue their studies and live in Malaysia for the duration of study. A letter of financial guarantee/sponsorship or the most recent financial statement from applicant’s bank is sufficient.
  • clear the medical check-up by the University’s health authorities;
  • have international passports with at least two years validity and meet all immigration procedures.

  • Medical Insurance:

All international students are required to have a medical insurance policy to cover their medical costs while studying in Malaysia. International students may opt to subscribe the medical insurance policy from an appointed agent by the university upon registration. Without a medical insurance policy, the student visa will not be issued by the Immigration Department of Malaysia.
