ROLE SUMMARY

To lead medical support services for Bristol City Women first team players and deliver on injury prevention, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation. The role includes pitch side support and management of medical equipment.

SALARY AND CONTRACTUAL STATUS

  • Salary: Available on request
  • Position: Permanent full-time 40 hours per week. This role will involve weekend work
  • Location: Stoke Gifford Stadium, South Gloucestershire and Stroud College, WISE Campus, BS34 8LP

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To lead in the assessment, treatment and rehabilitation of all first team players, producing injury rehabilitation programmes for all players
  • Organise, develop and implement a comprehensive movement screening assessment for all first team players and, based upon the movement assessment findings, provide physical improvement stretch and strengthening exercises
  • Lead on a strength and conditioning programme
  • Lead in the education of all players in terms of injury prevention, injury care, healthy lifestyles and drug awareness
  • Test players through Return to Train procedures prior to resuming full training
  • Provide daily reports on player injuries and progress on recovery programmes including an update on injuries after each match and training session
  • Lead the delivery of early, mid, and end stage rehabilitation/conditioning sessions on the grass and in the gym
  • Ensure the management of injuries effectively meets its commitments to the players, coaches, and senior management through the keeping of clinical audits and accurate documentation
  • To liaise with external organisations and to book all scans, consultations, operations and to accompany players to consultation appointments
  • Ensure all medical equipment and procedures are regularly reviewed and maintained

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE, SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Two years post qualification practice in an elite sports environment
  • Experience in planning and delivery of rehabilitation programmes to elite athletes
  • BSc degree in physiotherapy
  • Valid HCPC and CSP registrations
  • Up-to-date full advanced emergency aid qualification – Level 5 ATMIFF
  • Registered (with immediate effect) for work within the UK
  • Valid driving licence

Desirable

  • Postgraduate qualification in Physiotherapy/Rehabilitation or equivalent
  • Experience with PMA or similar software
  • Relevant qualifications in pitch-side trauma management (AREA
